How does Victor feel about creating the second monster? Look closely at the end of Chapter 19 for specific details. Does this change your persective of Victor?
Victor detests the making of the second creature. He seems to always be on his toes, scared of everything. He also fears the first creature which at any time could come and claim his female companion. At the end of Chapter 19 he speaks about how he has a dreadful sense of evil soon to come. Victor feels uneasy because he fears he is only creating more trouble. This occurance does change my perspective of Victor a little bit in that he seems to be becoming more mature. But then again if he hadn't had so much pride, the situations he finds himself in could have easily been avoided. Mellisa
Victor does not want to create another monster, but is apprehensive about what will happen if he doesn't. He procratinates the creation of the second monster which shows how nervous and scared he is to begin this again. When Victor speaks about starting the work to create this creation he says he " employed in the most detestable occupation". This detestation for creating another creature makes me like Victor a little more.It shows that he doesn't want to create any more harm in the world.
Making another creature is the last thing Victor wants to do yet if he doesn't he is afraid of what will happen. Victor feels that if he creates the monster he can save all human beings from the destruction of his first creature but he is worried that the creature will not be true to his word and the damage of one creature would only multiply with the help of another.
I mean more mature in that at first he seemed to be blinded by nothing but own personal gain. But as the different consequences of his choices begin to unfold, he begins to think of each decision on a larger scale that may effect the whole world. Mellisa C.
